May 4th is “Greenery Day” in Japan, and May 8th is “Pine Tree Day”. This day was established to “consider, protect, plant, and be grateful for the greenery of pine trees” in honor of the first National Conference in Nara held by the current Japan Greenery Research and Development Center on this day in 1981 (according to their website). Green season has arrived.
